We have been talking to Adam Rickard who is our Sales Development Manager. We have asked Adam some questions to give you a better idea of his job and his opinion on some topics related to the coffee industry.

What does your job involve?

I look after around 700 customers within Cornwall making sure that they are all happy and up to date with current trends within the coffee industry such as latte art, training and making sure that their machine is maintained properly. I also do a bit of van driving, little engineering, general dogs body :). I do like to fiddle with machines as I have an interest in how they work,  so when I go to see customers and there is a small problem, I can fix it.

How do you take your coffee?

I must admit I do like a flat white as you can really taste the coffee through the milk, plus I like making pretty patterns with the milk…

Favourite Coffee blend and why?

My current favourite coffee is our hand roasted blend and also the single estate 100% Arabica coffees which we are bespoke roasting for some of our customers with excellent results.

What do you love most about coffee?

I love watching our coffee go through the process of green bean, roasted and finally to the cup of coffee produced. Very exciting…

Top barista or coffee tip?

My top barista tip is to check your grinder regularly and keep your equipment well maintained and clean.

Biggest pet hate in the coffee industry?

When people don’t set their grinder to the correct setting, which can lead to a poorly extracted and tasting coffee.
